I have to pretend this is not in the fridge

This is very addictive. I have been looking for a recipe for a sweet, seedy, nutty, granola/muesli bar and found this one on recipezaar.com (recipe #115073). There is too much butter in it for my husband's taste, and I agree to a certain extent, mostly from a theoretical viewpoint mind you. haha. It ends up tasting much like caramel popcorn.

Dry ingredients:

1 cup rolled oats
1 cup coconut
1/2 cup LSA mix (ground linseeds, sunflower seeds and almonds)
1/2 cup sesame seeds
1/2 cup walnuts
1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
1 cup raisins

Wet ingredients:
125 g (1/2 cup) butter
1/2 cup honey
1/3 cup brown sugar

Line a 16 x 28 cm (7" x 11") pan with baking paper.

Combine dry ingredients in a big bowl.

Cook butter, honey and sugar over medium heat, stirring for 3-4 min until sugar dissolves. Reduce to low and simmer without stirring for 7 minutes.

Add to dry ingredients and mix well. Press firmly into pan. Set for a few hours in fridge.

Hello, I often peek at your site when I visit Sacha's...and I must say I would love to come to dinner sometime ;o)

Your dishes are so skillfully put together. And usually make me hungry.

This snack bar looks delightful!

Hi, Thanks for stopping in and visiting, kentuckymama... I've been wondering when YOU are going to start your blog (I always see your comments on Sacha's) :).

It was actually quite easy, try this yourself, Sacha. Though the main problem is the butter as I see it; I think you could probably halve it to 1/4 c vegetable oil and it would still be OK.

Ha!Ha! Sacha keeps asking me the same thing about a blog...however, that would require a few things I lack. Namely a digital camera! Who knows maybe one day. But don't look for one from me anytime soon :oD
As for now, I will just enjoy logging onto yours and Sach's! I always get such great ideas. Though you both actually *cook* a bit more than I do ;oP
