Homework banished

Reported in the Canberra Times this morning:

"A new government school in Melbourne has banned traditional homework. Instead, the 820 students will be encouraged to spend more time with their families, playing board games, gardening, and learning how to bake cakes and sew. School director Peter Kearney said it was "absolute rubbish" to give kindergarten students daily homework, as recommended by the Education Department."

I agree!
